RABIES/ADOPTION CLINIC 19 July 2008.
We have a new location for our Rabies/Adoption clinics for the months of July and August. We will have the clinics at Sips, Pocches & Kitties at 404 Savannah Road at Lewes Beach. Kittens will be on display for adoption at this location. Please call me on 227-7000 for information on the kittens and cats we have available for adoption. The Dept. of Agriculture has initated it's Spay/Neuter Program for low income Delawareans who qualify under disability, food stamps and Medicaid at a cost of $20 for cat or dog male or female including their rabies shot. The Society will except these vouchers for cats and will include distemper shots. Please call Dept. of Agriculture on 302-698-4567 to see if you qualify for this program and to get an application. If you would like to donate to our Society to continue these clnics for rescuers, please call Vivian, 227-7000. Please call Vivian, for future clinics. We always have our low cost clinics available if you do not qualify for the low income program.Call early and know you will be asked to prepay for the clinics. The low cost program charges are $70 & $60 for domestics and ferals The cost includes their rabies and distemper shots. We can also do micro chipping for $20. Ear tipping is free.

The Society will hold their Rabies Clinic for Cats & Dogs and Kitten/Cat Adoption Clinic at Wash & Wag Grooming Shop. We closed our Cat shop in Dewey Beach but we still have a lot of items for our cats and friends available for sale. We will hold these items for sale at our B & B in Dewey Beach so call if you need that special gift for an animal lover. Please call and come and do your shopping with us for your cat friends and help our cat clinics continue. All the proceeds from the sales goes to support the clinics. We want to share with you what your contributions helped us to do this year. - 549 cats were spayed and neutered - 322 cats were vaccinated - 202 dogs were vaccinated for rabies - 31 spay/neuter clinics held - 9 rabies/distemper/adoption clinics held My rescue border collie "Abby" would like to share her favorite recipe: Abby's Holiday Triffle 1 Large Angel Food Cake 3 packages of Instant Vanilla Pudding 5 ripe bananas sliced 1 quart of milk for pudding mix 2 large cans of fruit cocktail 1 quart of Heavy Whipping Cream beaten with a little sugar or a large container of Cool Whip. 1/2 cup of Almaretto Liquor 1 jar red and green cherries or mint leaves to decorate 1 large glass triffle bowl or punch bowl - Mix the pudding as directed on package with milk,add sliced bananas. - Drain one can of fruit cocktail, add other with juice, marinate with almaretto in refrigerator for one hour. - Cut the Angel Food Cake into thirds. Layer cake, pudding, fruit and whpped cream three times ending with whipped cream. Make wreath design with cherries and mint leaves. Serves 30

19 April 2008 Rabies/Adoption/Micro Chip Clinic for Cats & Dogs
We are scheduling now for our April & May 2008 Spay/Neuter Clinics on Mondays with preregistration in Lewes. We are out of low income grant money for our Sussex County citizens on disability, food stamps or medicaid and rescuers. We hope we recieve more donations so that we can continue with the low income program again soon.( The cost is $30/cat male or female including their rabies and distemper shots.) We still offer our low cost program - $65 for females and $55 for males including rabies and distemper shots. This is still a very good program and we hope you all will still consider us for your cats. In May the cost will be $70 & $60 to cover the State Surcharge for the Rabies Shot. You must call and make a reservation and prepay for the clinic. Call Vivian on 3o2) 645-1575. The Rabies Clinic at Wash and Wag on Saturday, 19 April 2008 from 10-12pm for cats & dogs. We will also be offering distemper shots for cats at $10 and micro chipping for cats & dogs for $20. The adoption clinic is 10am to 1pm. Call me for details. You do not need to make a reservation. There will be NO rabies clinic in May. We will begin again in June. Please call me if you have any other questions. The Adoption Clinic is always held when we have a rabies clinic. The adoption fee is $100 and includes spaying/neutering, all the shots, tests and micro chipping at our Clinic.

66 Dog Licenses sold Clinic.
Our Society with the Dewey Beach Feral Cat Society held A VERY SUCCESSFUL free Rabies Clinic for Cats & Dogs from 10 to 12 noon at Wash & Wag behind Jiffy Lube on Hwy One at Midway on Saturday, 24 February. We serviced 114 animals - 76 dogs and 38 cats. We also administered 18 offer distemper shots for cats at $10 and sold 3 low income spay/neuter coupons.Micro Chipping for $30 for cats and dogs was also offered. Kent County SPCA was on hand and sold 66 Dog licenses for $3 for sterilized dogs and $6 for unsterilized for one year.10 dogs were not old enough to have a dog license. Multi year licenses are also avaliable with multi year certificate for rabies shot. All dogs 6 months or older must e licensed in Delaware, The dog must have rabies certificate to purchase dog license. Because of the success of this free clinic we will do another this time next year. Dog licenses are due 1 March. If you need additional information, call Vivian on 645-1575 or 228-4881.

The shots for cats and dogs will be either $10 or $12 if neutered or not neutered. If the pet has had a rabies shot before this shot will be for 3 years. 100 dog licenses sold by Kent County SPCA
197 dogs and cats received their rabies and other shots. This was the most successful rabies clinic we have ever had and we wish to thank all those that protected their pets. The Society is so grateful to Joy & Jennifer for letting us have the clinic at their Wash & Wag shop, our vet Dr. Lea Tamni and all our wonderful volunteers who give of their time month after month and without them we could not do the rabies clinics or spay/neuter clinics. We also wish to thank Kent Couny SPCA for sending 3 of their staff members to sell the dog licenses.

A loving kitty for a loving family
Historic Lewes Cat Society and Just Us are holding a Kitty Adoption Fair on August 2 & 3 from 12noon to 3pm at 110 Cullen Street, Dewey Beach. Please come and give one of these loving of god's creatures a loving home. The adoption donation is $100 and it includes all shots and test, spay/neutering and micro chipping.
